Start writing here.. Ever wanted to escape the chaos of city life and wake up to birds singing, waterfalls roaring, and monkeys plotting their next snack heist? Well, welcome to Castle Forest Lodge, the ultimate off-the-grid retreat tucked deep in the lush rainforest of Mount Kenya.
Getting to Castle Forest Lodge is an adventure in itself. If you’re coming from Nairobi, buckle up for a scenic three-hour drive through rolling tea farms, sleepy villages, and winding roads that make you question your car’s suspension. Your journey takes you to Kirinyaga County, past Kimunye town, where the real fun begins.
Just 700 meters from Kimunye, you’ll reach the Kenya Forest Service gate, your gateway to untamed wilderness. From here, it's a short but bumpy 1-kilometer drive through the dense forest to reach the lodge. Expect to be greeted by towering trees, fresh mountain air, and possibly a curious monkey peeking through your window (don’t feed it, or you’ll make a new best friend for life).
One of the best things about Castle Forest Lodge? The waterfalls! And not just one or two, we’re talking about six stunning waterfalls hidden in the forest, waiting to be explored. Lace up your hiking boots and take a guided trek through the jungle, where you’ll stumble upon gushing cascades, crystal-clear pools, and perfect picnic spots. Whether you're up for a gentle stroll or a sweat-inducing trek, these waterfalls promise Instagram-worthy moments and a refreshing dip (if you’re brave enough for the icy mountain water).
Castle Forest Lodge is not your average luxury hotel, it’s better. It’s where nature meets comfort, where WiFi is replaced with birdsong, and where your stress levels drop as fast as your phone’s signal.
